About
May 26, 2010I’m Sherry Osborne and I have a creativity addiction. I don’t know how to live my life without writing and I don’t know how to leave my home without at least one camera hanging off my shoulder. I document big milestones and little moments with equal passion and I love to share those with anyone who’s interested in looking.
Writing: I don’t remember a time in my life where I didn’t write. I was the keener in high school who actually got excited when creative writing assignments were handed out, I wrote for my college paper, and when the Internet exploded I was quick to jump online and start writing for the nameless, faceless anonymous readers who passed by. Due to a combination of having excellent writing skills, a good writing “voice”, and a little bit of luck, I wound up getting a professional blogging job. One blog led to another and another and I now write on a full-time daily basis for a variety of sites.
For more information about my writing, please see the writing section. You can also follow my personal blog, Chaos Theory.
Photography: I’ve always enjoyed documenting my life by taking pictures of the world around me and I have an enormous box of old photos to prove it. I always relied on cameras that did all the thinking for me so all I had to do was peer through the viewfinder and take the shot. When digital cameras hit the market I bought a now-discontinued Kodak camera and loved being able to take what was practically an endless number of pictures without paying for development but I stuck with the point-and-shoot method for years. Eventually I became frustrated by the limitations on these cameras and invested in a dSLR camera. Once I owned one I wanted to learn everything I could about how to have full control over what my photos looked like.
After a lot of self-teaching, book reading, website browsing, and experimenting with my camera, I realized that I no longer simply enjoy taking photos, I had developed (pun only partially intended) a full-blown passion for photography. Not many things match the excitement I feel when I see a photo that I’ve taken that tells a story or makes someone feel something. You can find out more in the photography section.
